Not sure I want my dog to meet a police officer

What a strange title for a post right well I read a disturbing statistic that says every 96 minutes a dog is shot by a law enforcement officer, while some of these dogs are aggressive, most are not there is a documentary running right now called Puppycide. It is about law enforcement's problem with shooting dogs some who are shot are on leashes, running away, down on the ground being submissive, others are shot in the back. One is shot several times in it's owner's house. I couldn't finish the video . The film makers offer suggestions on how to better educate law enforcement and I hope that some law enforcement saw the video and will try some of the ideas.  I am sorry that I couldn't finish the film.
On a happier note today three dogs are back home next door because of my husband , dad and me . I am happy about that. I also want to say that I am praying for the victims of the tsunami and that everyone will be reunited with their loved ones. I am also praying for the families and friends of the four U.S. Marines that were killed in a accident at Camp Pendleton.
My schnoodle Maisy got groomed today and she looks adorable. I really wish that all dogs could have a good home and those that are lost will find their way home, but  I know that is not always possible and some lost dogs aren't lost they are abandoned and that is tragic; especially when you have watched the dog try to catch it's owner.  Yes I know I am repeating things for previous posts but really they need repeating and will keep being repeated until I stop seeing this happening.  I guess I could get the license plates of these asses but then the dog would get away. I guess I am just tired and need to face the reality that I can't save all the dogs and I will never be able to understand the type of person that does these things.
Have you ever wondered what would happen to these people that do horrible things to animals if they had to endure what the animal did? I do and it scares me that sometimes I wish that they would. I know that is horrible to say but if someone was to do these things maybe all the animal abusers and losers would just disappear.
I guess it is a good thing that I am not in politics either because some of the stuff going on or shall I say not going on bugs me , let's be honest if we ( as private citizens/ businesses) didn't have a budget for the year we would be in trouble. I have signed petitions saying that if the politicians aren't working on a budget then they shouldn't get their paychecks. This also applies to the other things they should be doing. Really if you all  can not agree on a budget, bill, or plan then maybe you never were taught to compromise  and your personal relationships must really be sad.
Okay  I think I am done ranting so good night/ morning.
Remember a pet( dog, cat, lizard, pocket pet, bird, snake) is a lifetime commitment ( theirs)  and that means choose carefully and love unconditionally and have a backup plan in case they outlive you .

  1. You can't save them all but that doesn't mean give up. Do what you can when and where you can. That starts with your own pet(s). Remember they aren't a fly-by-night commitment - they are depending on you (the owner).
