"We're living on the edge..."

To quote Aerosmith"We're living on the edge". Why do I say that? Because take a look around you people our beloved Gulf coast is covered with oil. The fish, sharks, dolphins, and sea turtles are washing up on beaches covered in oil. The beautiful birds of the coast are also covered and what are we doing about it. Some of us pray, others donate money, time and materials; while others just laugh and think it's no big deal. It is a big damn deal. I don't know who is to blame but I blame BP and the rig company. I say a prayer for the families of the dead and for the survivors. I am thankful that this didn't happen off my beloved California coast where I as a child played and sun burned but I know that there is a girl or woman who lives as I did and just shakes her head and tries to remember a time when the sand was clean without the specks of oil or the sheen of oil on the water. I am not sure what to do but to pray and maybe try and find a salon that will donate my hair my beautiful long, blonde hair to the cause. As I have said in a previous blog or email let's hope that if there are extraterrestrials out there they don't want our oceans to have lots of whales and dolphins in them, because if they do we are in trouble.
Not sure if you all have also noticed a trend of police violence against all types of dogs lately but last week it was brought to my attention that down in La Grange, Missouri two police officers were called out to remove a dog off of someone's property and after about 68 minutes and getting a rabies pole around the dog's neck and struggling to try and get her in the car they shot her once in the torso and while she was lying in the submissive position and wagging her tail they shot her in the head. Now that is terrible. I have been bit, scratched, growled at, barked, hissed and pushed into a wall by animals and not once have I ever wanted to shoot one. These are the men that are suppose to protect you and keep you safe. Luckily the whole incident was caught on their dash cams. So I hope the cops lose their badges. I know police officers have a dangerous job and it's very stressful. But I can't see Kenny shooting a dog who was not aggressive. At least I hope he wouldn't.
Also what is with people working at animal shelters that hate and like to abuse and torture animals, can't they get a job somewhere else? I can't fathom withholding food and water from a animal for fun or allowing them to live in conditions that were easily preventable. I mean can't these people find jobs somewhere else, where they don't have to deal with animals? Perhaps I am a fool, after all I am sitting here with tears rolling down my face for animals I don't know. I know that Maisy, Linda's feral cats, the Mitchell pack, Tindall pack, Edgar pack, Seals cats and the rest of the animals I know about personally are fine.  I guess it just bugs me because where someone sees a feral dog I see Scruffy, when it's a  feral cat or kitten all I see is Money, Shelby and any other semi feral cat. My greatest fear is that someday maybe it might be my or someone I care bout's fur baby being mistreated. I pray every night for all the animals and people I know. I hope that Kenny is safe at his job, that my grandpas and grandma are feeling well today, my aunts, uncles, cousins and my extended family are well and want for nothing. Remember adopt your next pal... So are We living on the edge?
